To act is to exercise the possibility of doing. In the balancing between the intangible reality of the previously imagined (or the always ongoing imaginary) and the material condition of architecture, whatever the form in which this translation is embodied, an act always underlies. We speak of enactment or materialisation when we refer to this translation between the world of ideas and the physical one taking place. An act is a thing done. Two architects from Barcelona, we cofounded ACTO in 2020 to combine a material practice with others tangential to the creative and humanities fields: editorial, curatorship and design of exhibition spaces, illustration, academia and research.
